Amazon has raised the average starting pay for some warehouse and delivery workers to more than $19 per hour. The workers will earn between $16 and $26 depending on their position. Amazon’s cost for these raises is approximately $1 billion. The changes are happening against the backdrop of increased organizing efforts and some union wins at various Amazon facilities.
