According to the New York Committee for Occupational Safety and Health, the number of construction worker deaths on the job increased 9% from 2020 to 2021. And 61 workers lost their lives in 2021, reported NYCOSH. Construction sites were particularly deadly, with one quarter of all workplace fatalities taking place there. Latino workers were hit the hardest, with 25.5% becoming victims of this tragic trend.
