Actors’ Equity Association has raised its voice against the Supreme Court ruling that has ended affirmative action at colleges and universities. The Court ruled that the programs violated the Equal Protection Clause of the Constitution and was therefore unlawful. Actors’ Equity responded in a statement, saying, “The Association has long supported affirmative action as a key strategy for ensuring the equitable inclusion of those who face discrimination…[and] creates openings for everyone to pursue their dreams.”
