New York Communities for Change, one of New York’s largest social justice organizations with 45,000 members, announced its endorsement of Senator Eric Adams for Brooklyn Borough President, joining a long list of unions and dozens of elected officials backing Adams to be Brooklyn’s next leader.
Adams has gained the support of more than 40 elected officials in his run for Borough President, including current Borough President Marty Markowitz and previous BP Howard Golden. He has also received the endorsements of 1199 SEIU Healthcare Workers East, the New York Hotel & Motel Trades Council, United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) Union Local 1500, the New York City Corrections Officers’ Association (COBA) and the Assistant Deputy Wardens/Deputy Wardens Association.
"New York Communities for Change is at the forefront of the progressive movement in New York, always among the first to stand up and fight for those who need our help the most,” said Senator Adams. “NYCC’s leadership on affordable housing, education and workers’ rights has led to a better Brooklyn for working families. I am truly honored to get their endorsement. With their help, we will make Brooklyn the best it can be.”
