As the world of AI and the increase of digital reliance in the workplace grows, some groups find themselves left out of this lucrative new expansion. Latinos are one such group, at least those who work in agriculture, construction, retail and food services. Even those jobs now threaten workers with a coming change to automation. A new report takes the issue further by explaining that automation is not just about technology, but about equity. One worker who spoke up said she lost her job and was displaced by automation; Ramiro Cavazos, president and CEO of the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, had not much more to say but that those affected would do well to become more educated and more skilled.
