Nightmare of Privatization of USPS May Become a Reality

Trump was making noises about taking control of the public Postal Service long before his present term. Now, word has gone out that, in line with a spate of recent Executive Orders seizing power and control in our country and globally at a whirlwind pace, the Trump Administration will soon issue an Executive Order firing the Postal Board of Governors, and place the United States Postal Service under the control of the Commerce Department. In a statement, Mark Dimondstein, President, American Postal Workers Union, AFL-CIO, said, “Any attack on the Postal Service would be part of the billionaire oligarch coup, directed not just at the postal workers our union represents, but the millions of Americans who rely on the critical public service our members provide every single day.”
