Workers at the Times Tech Guild, represented by the NewsGuild of New York, have reached a tentative contract deal on a three-year contract, filled with positive changes for these important employees. A month after the Tech Guild’s strike, New York Times management finally offered a fair deal. It didn’t hurt that there was an outpouring of support from NYT subscribers, who shifted away from the storied paper to the Tech Guild’s own site, and contributed over a quarter of a million dollars to the Guild’s strike fund, among other supportive actions. The deal came after more than two years of bargaining.
