Over 30 members of the Professional Staff Congress (PSC) were arrested on Monday as they sought to influence the CUNY Board of Trustees. The faculty members were seeking an improved economic offer tied to ongoing contract talks. The president of PSC, James Davis, along with the other members, blockaded the 10th Avenue entrance of John Jay College. The contract, held up since February, covers about 30,000 faculty, adjuncts and other staff in the public university system. Union members say the raises offered don’t keep up with inflation, among other failures to meet members’ needs.
