A huge number of AT&T workers in the South have been on strike since the middle of August, but now, tentative agreements between the ubiquitous cell phone carrier in two Districts has a chance to change that, dependent on the ratification of the contract by members, who are represented by the Communications Workers of America (CWA). Regarding these agreements, in  District 3 in the Southeast, and District 9 in the West area of Alabama, a statement from AT&T’s Chief Operating Officer says that the company’s “goal has been to reach fair agreements that recognize the hard work our employees do.” The COO says that the strike in District 3 will end on Sept. 16, while negotiations will continue with District 9’s negotiation team, “within days.”
