Teamsters’ President Sean O’Brien and rank-and-file members met with President Biden on March 12, before giving their official endorsement to a candidate for the upcoming presidential election. The Teamsters union has 1.3 million members, and 360 locals across the nation, so their support could play a big part in a White House win. Also important is the fact that its heaviest member concentrations are in Midwestern swing states, for example, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa and Ohio. Topics that were discussed in the meeting included Social Security, saving workers’ pensions, and passing the PRO Act.
