The She Wolf Bakery in Brooklyn, NY, has unionized with the RWDSU. The campaign was full of acrimony as the owner of the bakery sought to squelch the effort, employing union-busting techniques such as “captive audience meetings,” that isolate workers and force anti-union propaganda and lies on them. According to workers, after their unionization petition was announced in mid-January, managers displayed a hostile attitude towards them. Issues include a demand for higher wages, clearer paths to promotion, and better protections from extreme temperatures.
