UPS has refused to discuss economic provisions with the Teamsters’ union, leading to a slowdown in the pace of bargaining. The union proposals were made during supplemental negotiations which began the week of April 3. 13 supplemental negotiating committees met, demanding more holidays and sick days, improved bidding and grievance procedures, more full-time jobs, and fixes to payroll issues, among other issues. The Teamsters are firmly resisting cost-neutral bargaining and concessions. National negotiations begin April 17.
