New York, NY – The July 29, 2021 final deadline for the 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund [VCF] applies to claims by two primary groups of claimants — all those who passed away prior to July 29, 2019, and all those who were certified by the World Trade Center Health Program [WTCHP] prior to July 29, 2019 as having a 9/11-related condition. If you or a loved one were in Lower Manhattan south of Houston Street – for any reason – between 9/11 and July 31, 2002, you should find out now if you are eligible for tax free compensation from the VCF.
If a lost loved one was in Lower Manhattan south of Houston Street between 9/11 and July 31, 2002, and they died from lung disease or cancer, or if they suffered from a 9/11-related condition during their lifetime, July 29, 2021 will be the final deadline to register a claim for tax-free compensation with the VCF on their behalf.
