The union is now housed in a seven-story building in Clinton with new and expanded services for its members, including a larger auditorium, expanded educational facilities and room for growth.
“Our new headquarters is the culmination of our desire to have a facility that members can be proud of and utilize for meetings and for their educational needs,” said Executive Director Raglan George, Jr. “In the past, many unions were active being the focal point in many communities, enriching their lives in the arts, music and building solidarity. We hope our union headquarters can be useful to build our communities for years to come.
Elected officials, union representatives and members will be in attendance. District Council 1707 represents direct care, home care, subsidized day care, Head Start, social service and other non-profit employees in New York City, Westchester and Long Island.
