A coalition of uniformed workers that includes police, firefighters, sanitation workers and correction officers have struck a deal with Mayor Adams. The Uniformed Officers Coalition represents 11 unions. There are 32,000 of these essential workers across these unions. Adams claims the new contract will make it possible financially for uniformed workers and their families to live in New York, where they are employed, something that is debatable given the stratospheric cost of housing in the City. The settlement has not yet been finalized.
