AT&T and DirecTV are continuing their Merry Christmas Layoffs. At the same time the companies are expanding offshore hiring.  The disgraceful attack on the American workers began December 16th with pink slips for thousands celebrating the holidays. Its expected that this sneak attack will result in over 3,000 America workers let go as the companies expand operations in Philippines,  India, China and other countries outside of the USA.
This past December 1000 employees were notified of the pending layoffs by AT&T and over 800 workers from DirecTV.
Most of those were across mid-west states, with some of those including higher-skilled workers.
Many believe that money provided from the tax giveaway to large companies will be used to build factories overseas. Its expected that AT&T will be terminating thousands more American workers in California, Connecticut, Florida, Maryland, Massachusetts, and New York. The official AT&T press release stated that “We’re adjusting our workforce in some of those areas as we continue to align our workforce with the changing needs of the business.”
