Governor Cuomo is open to shortening the five-year contract that the Public Employees Federation originally turned down in an effort to save 3,500 jobs.

Police Commissioner Ray Kelly stated that the New York Police Department is preparing for the Occupy Wall Street protests to go on indefinitely.

New claims for unemployment benefits are still on the rise, according to last week’s data.

The Service Employees International Union held a rally in Newark, NJ yesterday to encourage ground employees at local airports to organize into bargaining units.  

The reconstruction of New York State Route 17 could create 1,800 jobs in Orange County, NY.
