Stagehands’ union members are set to picket the Tony Awards this year due to a labor dispute. Actors who are members of Actors’ Equity may skip out on the red carpet in support.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo is considering some hefty state layoffs 9800, to be exact. Cuomo also announced his new pension plan yesterday.

A New York Times article questions why the political climate is more focused on reducing deficit rather than creating jobs.

NJ labor leaders are urging state Democrats not to support a new bill that would require public employees to pay higher costs for health insurance.

Many companies are unwilling to pay more for workers and are instead buying equipment to streamline production, sans new employees.
