A New York state appeals court ruled that the New York City Health and Hospitals System may legally lay off 144 workers.

The Uniformed Fire Officers Association is requesting a new investigation into the Deutsch Bank fire that killed two firemen.

Locked out Blue Cross Blue Shield workers held a prayer vigil yesterday while they continue to wait for a new contract.  

Yesterday, 8,000 mine workers in Indonesia initiated a seven-day strike.

Layoff notices have already been sent out to 321 public workers, according to the Cuomo administration.

If employees at the Nine Mile nuclear power plants don’t come to an agreement today, they will initiate a strike at midnight.
