Sen. Kristin Gillibrand is pushing for legislation to be passed that would help lower the number of unemployed veterans.

The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 97, which represents workers at Nine Mile Point, went on strike last Friday.

Reuters reports that Conn. Gov. Daniel Malloy and NY Gov. Andrew Cuomo are pushing unions to accept benefits cuts rather than thousands of layoffs.

New York City has hired a new financial advisor to monitor public-private partnerships.

WalMart is now contributing to the Martin Luther King Jr. concert series in the hopes of getting an East New York franchise.

Though an extraordinary amount of American’s income is coming from government benefits, budget cuts may take all of that away in the near future.

70,000 workers in the South African petroleum, chemical, and packaging industry have gone on strike in demand of pay increases.
