Senate Passes Lockbox; Assembly Stil Out

June 24, 2011

In a unanimous vote on June 22, 62 State Senators passed the transit lock box bill (S. 4257C), sponsored by Sen. Martin Golden (R-Bay Ridge). The vote came after Sen. Golden held a press conference in Times Square last month with bill co-sponsor Assemblyman Jim Brennan and transit advocates. He also met with Local 100 Bus Operators at the Ulmer Park Depot in Brooklyn.

Now, attention turns to the State Assembly, where the bill (A. 6766) has 40 co-sponsors. Let’s all call our Assemblymembers and make a final push to get this vital legislation passed.
