Niagara Falls, NY - After years of making somewhat the same speech at the Niagara-Orleans AFL-CIO Central Labor Council’s annual Workers’ Memorial that was held Saturday (May 6th) at Reservoir Park in Niagara Falls, Council President Jim Briggs delivered an emotional and angry challenge to Elected Officials and the media to “keep the focus on Worker deaths in the public’s eye in order to help eradicate the problem” in the years to come.

Washington, DC - The amount of time workers have to wait to vote on union representation has dropped by 38% since the National Labor Relations Board adopted new rules intended to speed up the process, according to a study by the management law firm Fisher Phillips.

20 Veterans commit suicide each day in the United States. This is unforgivable. Cliff Nolan of Teamsters Joint Council 73 and a good friend, Judy Isaacson Schaffer were angry and decided to do something about it. They founded Heroes to Heroes, an organization that provides a spiritual healing and peer support program for Combat Veterans of all conflicts that have attempted suicide or are on a path to doing so.
