Over the past weeks, members of RWDSU/UFCW Local 338 collected hundreds of turkeys and hams to help feed families living in need throughout New York City, Westchester, and Long Island. As it does each holiday season, members personally delivered the union’s donations to food banks at Island Harvest, Project Hospitality, and several other charities and shelters in and around the Five Boroughs in time for Thanksgiving.

Together with generous contributions from several employers, 338 members helped support great local charities during through their busiest time of year, and helped make the holidays better for its neighbors most in need.

“The number of families relying on food pantries has grown incredibly due to the economic crisis. These donations make a great difference in the lives of families, particularly during times of celebration”, said John R. Durso, President of Local 338 RWDSU/UFCW. “We are proud to be able to help even in the slightest way.”
