RWDSU Local 108 Organizing And Contract Victories In New Jersey

RWDSU Local 108 has conducted four successful organizing drives, secured two first contract victories and filed two petitions for union elections. Union election victories were achieved at the Pickle King processing plant in Paterson following an NLRB election of 8-0. One hundred Union City crossing guards and 10 North Bergen Parking Authority employees achieved representation with Local 108. Workers at DeStefano Foods in New Brunswick voted 8-1 in an NLRB election for union representation.

First contract victories were secured by 80 part-time City of Hoboken employees and 40 employees with the West New York Parking Authority.Recently filed petitions were made at the Guttenberg parking authority for five employees and at Shoppers World in Union City for 35 employees.
