Roberta Reardon, a distinguished labor leader with an outstanding reputation, has been nominated by Governor Andrew Cuomo to serve as the Commissioner of the New York State Department of Labor. Ms. Reardon has had an impressive career in the labor movement at both the state and national levels. Reardon had played an integral role in the historic merger of two powerful unions – the Screen Actors Guild and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists.

She also served as a Vice President of the New York State AFL-CIO for several years.

"I have seen first-hand Roberta's dedication and commitment to the cause of working people, and it is unsurpassed," said Mario Cilento, President of the NYS AFL-CIO. "She has been a tireless advocate for not just union members, but all working men and women and their families." 

"I have the utmost confidence in her abilities to serve the people of New York State by ensuring workers are protected and treated with fairness," continued Cilento."We look forward to working with Roberta and wish her all the best."
