New York, NY – “Heisenberg” is a Manhattan Theater Club Production which stars two veteran actors: Mary:Louise Parker who plays Georgie and Denis Arndt who plays Alex. The play was written by British playwright Simon Stephens the creator of the “The Curious” Incident of the Dog in the Night Time”.
The play in deference to the two actors is not engaging and looses he audience with quirky dialogue; The strength of Mr. Stephens fist award winning play is not apparent.
The play opens at a train station where Georgie is awaiting her husband who is dead and is a factor of her imagination; Alex is approached by Georgie and they engage in a conversation. The action continues as Georgie tracks down Alex to his butcher shop and of course more aimless conversation which results in a sexual encounter..Are you engrossed now? Neither am I as the play goes flat and is engulfed in meaningless conversation..
In spite of the insipid dialogue Ms. Parker and Mr. Arndt professionalism rise above the material they are given.
