Joseph Stamm (l) and Bill de Blasio Mayoral Elect

MedReview’s President/CEO Joe Stamm and its Executive Vice President Helen Mutchler were privileged to participate in the historic landslide victory of Bill De Blasio as the 109th Mayor of the City of New York. Prior to watching election results confirming the expected outcome at the Park Slope Armory, a special victory reception was held, which gave close friends and political dignitaries the opportunity to extend best wishes to the soon to be Mayor elect.

Among the dignitaries present were Congressmen Elliot Engel and Jerry Nadler, NYS Speaker of the Assembly Sheldon Silver, Brooklyn Boro President Marty Markowitz, NYC Comptroller John Liu and Councilman Brad Lander, just to name a few.

After the polls closed, the gathered crowd made its way to the Armory to await the new Mayor elect. Joe and Helen took this opportunity to chat with Assemblyman David Weprin, Councilman Mark Weprin, newly elected Public Advocate Letitia James and newly elected Queens Boro President Melinda Katz.

When the results became final, the celebration began. It culminated with Mayor elect Bill De Blasio’s moving speech focusing on his favorite theme from the campaign, portraying New York as “a tale of two cities”. Mr. De Blasio took time to praise New York City’s Police Department as the finest in the world but noted that respect must be shown at both sides of the badge. He also took time to praise Republican candidate, Joe Lhota saying “despite our differences, I know he loves this city as much as I do.
