San Diego California – Quest Diagnostics workers in San Diego voted to join UFCW Local 135 in order improve their jobs and working conditions. Better wages, respect on the job, stable schedules, vacation time and sick days are some of the priorities for these employees. Negotiations for their first contract are beginning with the entire group very excited.

Quest Diagnostics is a leading service provider in oncology and genetics. The company has 45,000 employees. It serves one in three adult Americans and half the physicians and hospitals in the United States.  Since Quest Diagnostics is so prominent, the workers hope that through the power of their combined voice, they can improve standards throughout the industry.

Phlebotomist and lab technicians across the Northwest and Southwest began voting to join the UFCW after union reps reached out to workers at the company. An intense organizing drive resulted in a very successful campaign. Almost all Quest workers voted YES to joining UFCW.
