Harrisburg, PA – Service Employees International Union Local 668 has officially finalized a contract covering more than 9,000 Pennsylvania state government employees, the union announced Apr. 7.

The three-year deal, based on a tentative agreement reached last summer, is retroactive to July 1, 2016. It includes five separate raises totaling 11.75%, with a 2.25% step increase that went into effect last October and a 2% general pay increase coming July 1. “The signing of this contract is a momentous occasion that codifies all the hard work of our members and establishes labor harmony for the next three years,” said Local 668 President Tom Herman. Over the three years, it will raise the average annual pay for members—who work in state agencies such as the Corrections, Human Services, and Labor and Industry departments—from  $40,502 to $55,591.
