Albany, NY –  NYSUT and the Professional Staff Association, which represents 214 NYSUT employees, have reached an agreement.

NYSUT President Karen E. Magee said: “This tentative agreement reflects the deep respect we have for our staff, will ensure the continuation of NYSUT’s outstanding services, and helps safeguard the union’s financial health. With Labor Day looming, it underscores our faith in and fidelity to the collective bargaining process.”

PSA President Elizabeth Vignaux said: “We are pleased that NYSUT and PSA were able to set aside our differences and, despite difficult negotiations, reach common ground on a tentative agreement that is fair to NYSUT’s professional staff and fair to the union itself. It’s now time to move forward in unity and continue to fight together on behalf of NYSUT members across the state.”

New York State United Teachers is a statewide union with more than 600,000 members in education, human services and health care. NYSUT is affiliated with the American Federation of Teachers, the National Education Association and the AFL-CIO.
