Filmmaker Michael Moore makes his Broadway debut with The Terms of My Surrender, a one-man show at the Belasco Theatre. The two-hour show, presented without an intermission, takes the liberal-satirical approach to politics Moore used on the issues of health care and gun control in his documentaries Sicko and Bowling for Columbine. It’s not just predictable Trump-bashing, however; it’s also personal, as Moore relates anecdotes from his life. Adeptly directed by Michael Mayer, the show is fun and freewheeling and doesn’t fail to live up to expectations.

The scenic design by David Rockwell and the visual projections by Andrew Lazarow enhance the presentation and are not overdone. While the liberal views occasionally overpower the comedy, it is still an entertaining, enjoyable evening for the whole audience, except for those conservatives who are still fighting the Obama presidency.
