Washington, DC – On Saturday January 21 2017 there was an historic movement just like the suffragettes which led to the 19th amendment giving women the right to vote.

In the historic tradition of the right to assemble and protest so too the March on Washington and several other cities as well many cities worldwide. Over 2 million people assembled to demand that the new United  States President, House of Representative and Senate do not take any actions which endanger a women’s right to choose and to maintain funding of organizations like Planned Parent, which provides health care to women particularly in underserve communities.

There I was in the middle of the throngs of humanity which marched peacefully from the United Nations to Fifth Avenue and Trump Tower. Even though the marchers could not pass the barricades on 55th street the protesters did not storm the barricades but peacefully moved to fifty-Seventh Street.  This was a poignant and peaceful demonstration which did not result in any arrests and numbered some 500,000 concerned Americans of all genders, walks of life and ethnic, religious; and racial groups.

How can such an outpouring, Nationally and Internationally, can be ignorant by the new President.

This will not be the end but the beginning of a new era of demonstrations supporting American Women right to choose supporting voters’ rights, supporting basic American values and funding of organizations that make a difference in the lives of every American. This is the start of a new American Revolution which must be finally voiced  at the ballot box.
