New York Jobs with Justice and Urban Agenda, two New York City-based advocacy organizations, announced the launch of their new partnership at a breakfast event on June 10th which featured New York State Comptroller John Liu as the keynote speaker.

Comptroller Liu highlighted his current efforts to bring more accountability to New York City’s government and added, “Society continues to push for increased government reform and community empowerment. It is heartening to see efforts of groups like New York Jobs with Justice and Urban Agenda that are joining forces and envisioning a bolder, brighter future for all New Yorkers.”

The event was held at the Murphy Institute for Worker Education and Labor Studies and the introduction and opening remarks were given by Gregory Mantsios, Director of the Murphy Institute and Ed Ott, a Distinguished Lecturer at the Institute and the former President of the New York Central Labor Council.

Presentations highlighted the organizations’ historic role in building coalitions that unite powerful labor partners, grassroots community organizations, progressive businesses and other allies to win victories that no single organization could win alone.
