Dear Friends of Labor,

We are local 255 of the Laborers International Union of North America. We represent the teachers of the Archdiocese of N.Y. Our union has represented teachers for over 40 years.

In 2007, after our contract expired, the Archdiocese decided to make the schools “independent.” Despite the fact that the school operations and budgets must be approved by the Archdiocese and they retain voting rights at each school, they contend they are “independent.”

Hi Neal,

Ralph Kramdem has been a friend since the late 1970's. He is true labor and the best we have right now.

Sorry to send regrets but we are away in New England until the end of August. Larry has my full and total support.

Thank you for send this out and for Labor Press endorsing him.

In Solidarity,

George McAnanama

Congratulations!

I hope New York State will treat home health care workers with respect, some are earning a mere $150.00 per week working for agency like Partners in Care.

Hey Neal:

Now we are talking about the real problem everybody should be not only be talking about, but bringing to the forefront.  It is not a popular political issue, but it is an issue that must be addressed quickly to protect the 2500 jobs at stake in the Health and Hospital Corporation today, but to also protect future job loss if this issue is not addressed.

It is a travesty to layoff 2500 HHC employees, who through their Health Care benefits and their Union's health care benefit plans are paying for the uninsured and undocumented workers that the Government and State expect HHC to service without any funding source.

Anything this Union could do, please let me know.

Thanks,

Stephen Melish

To the Editor:

In regards to your article on the Javits Center, I enjoyed the auto show on Sunday. It’s a great event. Hopefully, people become inspired to buy that new car and help support the American work force.
