New York, NY – As IBEW Local 3’s strike against Charter Communications/Spectrum in New York and New Jersey continues the company refuses to bargain and is demanding concessions.

The giant cable communications company has refused to bargain with IBEW Local 3 for over two years. The strike started March 28th.

Workers at Charter say the company is demanding many concessions and changes including ending pension and hospitalization contributions, ending weekend overtime pay, and increased outsourcing power.

Roughly 1800 IBEW workers are striking Charter. They were working under an expired union contract with Time Warner – the employer before Charter bought the company.

IBEW says Charter/Spectrum isn’t providing workers with the tools, resources and support needed to properly do the work and deliver promised services to customers.
