Kenmore, NY – Following a vote held Tuesday (September 20th), Technical Associates employed at Kenmore Mercy Hospital who are represented by Communications Workers of America (CWA) Local 1133 ratified a new multi-year contract – making it the fourth of four new contracts that have been ratified by CWA Members at Buffalo area Catholic Health System Hospitals in recent weeks
The contract covers 350 Technical Associates, including Operating Room Technicians, Respiratory Therapists, Radiology Technologists, Cardiac Sonographers, CT Technologists, Electroneurodiagnostic Technicians, Certified Mammography Technologists, Ultrasound Technologists, and Special Procedures Technologists.
In addition to maintaining low-cost health benefits, the ratified agreement at Kenmore Mercy Hospital includes improvements in wages and Staffing, CWA Officials said.
“We ‘thank’ the Bargaining Committees and the Members for ‘all their hard work’ to get these contracts ratified,” CWA Local 1133 Deb Arnet said. “We ‘look forward’ to beginning a ‘collaborative relationship’ with hospital management to ‘ensure’ patient care improvements continue.”
Last week, CWA Local 1168-represented Registered Nurses (RNs) at Sisters Hospital/St. Joseph’s Campus in the Buffalo Suburb of Cheektowaga ratified a new multi-year contract, which covers more than 200 Nurses at the Catholic Health Hospital. The contract included improvements in wages, Staffing and pension contributions, as well as the maintenance of high-quality, low-cost health benefits, Union Officials said.
