EarthDay Protests

New York Saturday April 22, 2017 Thousands March to Save the Earth The drizzle did not deter over  50,000 Americans exercising their civil right to protest.

On this day there were over 600 protest marches around the around led by scientists. Signs read “Science Makes America Great”, “Save the Environment”, “Give Bees A Chance”, ‘Save the Earth People chanted. “We do not want to poison our air and water. We don’t want endangered species to become extinct.”  “Save our planet”.  Parents and children were joined by conservationist, environmentalist, unionist, educators and scientist. Children voiced the importance of science if we are going to advance as a society.

The protesters voiced concern in the elimination of EPA rules and regulations and the impact upon the environment and ecosystem. A critical concern was the major cuts proposed by the President in scientific research in general and cuts to fight diseases like cancer. Signs read “save the EPA and Save the NIH.

Protesters voiced concern over the failure by the administration and elected officials in Congress who will not recognize the dangers of climate change. In fact, folks voiced how our elected officials in Washington can be deniers of the impact of climate change which will negatively affect our society, our economy and our society.  ,
