City Carpenters Endorse Rebecca Lamorte For Council

New York, NY – The New York City & Vicinity District Council of Carpenters issued its endorsement for Rebecca Lamorte for City Council in District 5. Rebecca Lamorte currently serves as the Legislative & Communications Coordinator for GNY LECET, the labor-management fund of the Mason Tender’s District Council of Greater New York. Rebecca is also a member of Laborers Local 79.  

City Council’s District 5 encompasses East Harlem, Midtown, Murray Hill, Roosevelt Island and the Upper East Side of Manhattan. 

“The District Council is proud to lend its support to Rebecca Lamorte in her run for City Council in District 5,” stated Executive Secretary-Treasurer Joseph Geiger. “Rebecca has been a lifelong advocate for the working people across this great city. Already, Rebecca has been at the forefront of the Fight for $15, the Construction Safety Act, and the recent success of prevailing wage legislation. I am confident that Rebecca will continue dedicating herself to New York families once elected to the City Council by fighting for the construction of affordable housing, promoting necessary public transportation infrastructure projects and supporting legislation to protect union jobs.”
