Sunday Evening April 17th on AM970 Radio at 9pm – THE ANSWER
LaborPress’ “Blue Collar Buzz” brings the Bernie vs. Hillary battle into the studios of AM970 as hosts Neal Tepel and Bill Hohlfeld talk about the upcoming New York State Democratic Primary with AFT President Randi Weingarten and Murphy Institute Lecturer Ed Ott.
Weingarten says that Clinton brought lots of economic aid to New York State when she was in the Senate, and that there is “A lot of historical evidence that she opposed NAFTA.”
Ott, meanwhile argues that New Yorkers are tired of “taking it in the neck” and are ready for the kinds of big changes that Sanders is advocating. Already, Ott says, “The Democratic Party will never be the same again.”
This week’s edition of Blue Collar Buzz also features interviews with Ann Heekin of the Don Bosco Community Center and Al Liberatore, business manager, IBT Local 456. Heekin has teamed up with the Communications Workers of America in Port Chester to both combat wage theft and sow the seeds of unionism for generations to come. While Liberatore defends workers at the Indian Point nuclear power station, calling criticisms about the plant “fear mongering.”
