Washington, DC – Border Patrol agents along the Rio Grande Valley are doing a remarkable job managing waves of unaccompanied children flooding the U.S. border, American Federation of Government Employees National President J. David Cox Sr. asserts in a recent Huffington Post column.

Nearly 40 percent of our agents along the Rio Grande Valley have been pulled from the field to process and care for the tens of thousands of immigrants – many of them children – who have entered the country illegally from Central America.

"Despite it all, our agents are doing a remarkable job under the most stressful circumstances imaginable. They are true American heroes, and we as a nation should be doing everything we can to support them in their work," Cox writes.
